The 2026 Nissan Rogue® is a five-passenger compact SUV offered in S, SV, Dark Armor, Rock Creek, SL, and Platinum configurations. Its powertrain combines a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with an Xtronic transmission and a choice of Front-Wheel Drive or All-Wheel Drive on compatible grades. The vehicle also integrates four-wheel independent suspension, four-wheel vented disc brakes, selectable drive modes, and multiple electronic chassis-control technologies. Inside, the 2026 Nissan Rogue® provides configurable cargo space, available premium seating materials, connected infotainment, and climate-control equipment designed for practical daily use.

Powertrain, Driveline, and Chassis Engineering

The 2026 Nissan Rogue® uses a coordinated collection of mechanical and electronic systems to support responsive power delivery, controlled handling, and efficient operation. Nissan installs the engine transversely within a unibody structure constructed primarily from corrosion-resistant and high-strength steel. Independent suspension designs operate at both ends of the vehicle, while electric power-assisted steering supplies vehicle-speed-variable assistance. Every configuration includes four-wheel vented disc brakes supported by electronic braking technologies. Intelligent Trace Control and Active Ride Control provide additional chassis management during normal vehicle operation.

Turbocharged 1.5-Liter Engine

The KR15DDT engine has a displacement of 1,498 cc and uses an inline three-cylinder configuration with an aluminum block and aluminum cylinder head. It produces 201 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 225 lb-ft of torque from 2,800 to 4,000 rpm. A turbocharger supplies the induction system, while High Pressure Direct Injection Gas technology delivers fuel directly to the engine. The engine operates on regular unleaded fuel and carries LEV3-UL50 emissions certification. A standard idle stop-start system manages engine operation during applicable vehicle stops.

The dual-overhead-camshaft valvetrain uses four valves per cylinder and Continuously Variable Timing Control for both the intake and exhaust valves. The specified compression-ratio range extends from 8.0:1 to 14.0:1, and maximum engine speed is 6,000 rpm. Fine-tipped iridium spark plugs support ignition, while graphite-coated pistons form part of the internal engine design. The engine also uses two lower torque-rod mounts and an engine-coolant-type oil cooler. Exhaust gases travel through a stainless-steel dual exhaust system equipped with pre and main mufflers.

Xtronic Transmission and Drive Systems

The Xtronic transmission includes a manual shift mode, paddle shifters, ECO mode, and Sport mode. Its ratio range extends from 2.953:1 to 0.361:1, with a 2.20:1 reverse ratio and a 5.676:1 final-drive ratio. Front-Wheel Drive versions use a front-engine, Front-Wheel Drive layout and a lever-type Drive Mode Selector with three settings. All-Wheel Drive versions combine a front-engine, All-Wheel Drive configuration with a dial-type selector offering five settings. Active Brake Limited Slip comes standard with both driveline arrangements.

Hill Start Assist is standard and helps manage vehicle movement when starting on an incline. Rock Creek models add Hill Descent Control to support controlled operation on descending surfaces. All-Wheel Drive versions also include a dedicated G-sensor that supports the AWD system. A 14.5-gallon fuel tank supplies the engine, and specified engine-oil capacity is 5.0 quarts. When properly equipped, the 2026 Nissan Rogue® has a maximum trailer rating of 1,500 pounds and a specified maximum tongue weight of 150 pounds.

Steering, Suspension, and Braking

The front suspension uses an independent strut design with coil springs and a 24.2-mm stabilizer bar. At the rear, an independent multi-link layout works with a 27.5-mm stabilizer bar on Front-Wheel Drive models or a 28-mm bar on All-Wheel Drive versions. Twin-tube shock absorbers are standard, while Rock Creek receives an off-road-tuned suspension. The electric power-assisted steering system has a 14.3:1 overall ratio and requires 2.5 turns from lock to lock. A 35.4-foot curb-to-curb turning diameter supports maneuverability in confined driving environments.

The braking system uses 11.65-inch by 1.02-inch vented front discs and 11.50-inch by 0.63-inch vented rear discs. A four-wheel, four-channel, four-sensor Anti-lock Braking System monitors wheel behavior during braking. Electronic Brake force Distribution and Brake Assist also come standard. Every 2026 Nissan Rogue® includes an electronic parking brake. Intelligent Trace Control and Active Ride Control provide additional electronic management of vehicle behavior.
